Join iGive.com and benefit the Choral Society when you shop on line.

The mission of iGive.com is “to enable the economic power of individuals to benefit
their chosen communities.” Over 410 participating merchants give rebates on your on-line purchases (ranging from 0.3% to 26%, but usually about 2%), in the form of contributions to the cause you choose.

Just a small sample of participating merchants: Barnes & Noble, Expedia, E-bay Microsoft, Gateway, Dell, IBM, PC Connection, J.C. Penney, Eddie Bauer, Lands End, REI, J Crew, LL Bean, Gap, Linens 'N Things, Disney Store, BBC America Shop, Hallmark, Wall Street Journal, Ancestry.com, Office Depot, OfficeMax.

There is no charge to you or to the Choral Society, and your privacy is protected.

Here’s how it works:

A. You join iGive.com and list the Choral Society of Durham as the cause you would like to support. You register your name, e-mail address, and zip code, and you receive a password, which allows you to change your settings. Your information is protected by a strong privacy policy, and you can opt out of receiving iGive's e-mail newsletter or notices about special offers.

B. iGive and the participating merchants use cookies to record the contributions earned by your on-line purchases. The merchant pays a percentage of the purchase price to iGive, and iGive periodically sends us a check. If you wish, you can take a tax deduction for the amount the contributions (documented by iGive).

C. There are three ways to get credit for purchases from participating merchants:

1. Start your shopping from the Mall at iGive.com, where a directory will take you to the Web site of any participating merchant. Your purchases will automatically be credited.*

2. Download the Shopping Window from iGive.com. Then, whenever you shop at a participating merchant, your purchases will automatically be credited, even if you don't start shopping from the iGive.com Mall. When you make a qualifying purchase, the Shopping Window will pop up to confirm that the purchase is credited. (Unfortunately, this feature is currently Windows-only; a Mac-compatible Shopping Window is expected to be available by April 2003).

3. Start your shopping from an iGive.com e-mail newsletter (receiving the newsletter is optional).

*Currently, transaction reporting is not available for seven participating merchants, including Amazon, Expedia, and Target. Purchases from these merchants should be reported on iGive’s on-line Transaction Reporting Form.
